Abstract Objective To learn the antibiotic susceptibility of Salmonella montevideo, and to guide the reasonable clinical use of antibiotics.Methods Drug susceptibility of 97 strains of salmonella montevideo in Rui'an hospital from JAN 1,2011 to DEC 30,2014 were analyzed retrospectively.Results A total of 97 strains were isolated from 31 972 faeces of diarrhea patients, and the positive detection rate was 0.30%. There were significant difference on the positive detection rate among different age group(P<0.01).The positive detection rate of children≤14 was 0.44%, higher than those >14 (P<0.05).July 18 reached the peak of positive detection day using circular distribution method(P<0.05).In children group(n=84),the salmonella montevideo strain were sensitive to the third and fourth-generation cephalosporin,quinolones and aztreonam(88.09%-100%).The drug sensitive rate of salmonella montevideo strain was 47.62% to tetracycline, 30.95% to ampicillin, 15.48% to gentamyoin and 0.00% to cefazolin. In >14 years old group(n=13),the salmonella Montevideo strain were sensitive to the third and fourth-generation cephalosporin, quinolones and aotreonam(88.66%-100%).The drug sensitive rate of salmonella wentevideo strain was 49.48% to tetracycline, 32.98% to ampicillin,15.46% to gentamycin and 0.00% to cefazolin.Conclusion The drug sensitivity of salmonella montevideo to antibiotics had significant difference between ≤14 age group and >14 age group .It is necessary to monitor the change of drug resistance to guide the reasonable clinical use of antibiontics. The third and fourth-generation cephalosporins or quinolones canld be used as clinical treatment.
