  • China Preventive Medicine Journal (formerly Zhejiang Preventive Medicine and Preventive Medicine) (ISSN 2096-5087; CN 33-1400/R) was founded in September 1989. The journal publishes on the 10th of each month. It is supervised by Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology, sponsored by Zhejiang Preventive Medicine Association, and published by the Editorial Office of China Preventive Medicine Journal as part of the series of journals of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association. This journal is indexed by international major databases such as Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations (CSTPCD), Annual Report for Chinese Academic Journals Impact Factors, World Journal Clout Index (WJCI) of Scientific and Technological Periodicals, Core Academic Journals of Research Center for Chinese Science Evaluation (RCCSE),WPRIM, Chinese Journal Full-text Database (CJFD), Chinese Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database (CAJCED), Chinese Biological Medical Disc (CBMdisc), etc.

     

    I. Aim

    The journal aims to advancing the field of preventive medicine through leveraging the latest technological advancements, emphasizing tertiary prevention, and combining popularization and improvement. At the core of our mission is a commitment to staying at the forefront of developments in public health and preventive medicine and facilitating the exchange of research results and information among professionals in the preventive medicine field.

     

    II. Publishing Scope and Columns

    The journal focuses on publishing new theories, technologies, methods, and achievements in this field, covering a wide array of disciplines such as infectious diseases, epidemiology, parasitology, environmental health, occupational health, nutrition, child and adolescent health, radiation health, maternal and child health, community health, toxicology, health inspection technology, health education, and public health management. In addition, the journal also publishes informative literature reviews, in-depth discussions on specialized topics, etc.

    The main columns include Expert Forum, Original Articles, Reviews, Disease Control, Surveillance, Maternity and Child Health, Health Education, Health Management, and Laboratory Research.

     

    III. Submission Guidelines

    1. Authors should register and submit manuscripts on the journal website (www.zjyfyxzz.com). A serial number of the submission will be generated automatically after the editorial office receives the manuscript. Authors will receive an email notification to submit materials such as the 'Copyright Transfer Agreement', 'Authors' Declaration Form' (available for download on the homepage) and manuscript processing fee. For review process, please refer to 'Editorial Policy' Page on this website.

    2. Authors are responsible for the content of the submitted manuscripts.

    3. According to the relevant provisions of the 'Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China', the editorial office of the journal has the right to make textual modifications and deletions to the submitted manuscripts.

    4. Fees: The journal charges manuscript processing fees and page fees. The fee schedule is as follows:

    - Manuscript processing fee: CNY 50 per article;

    - Page fee: CNY 300-500 per 1,000 characters.

    After the manuscript is published, a remuneration will be given (including remuneration for other forms of publication), and two complimentary copies of the journal will be provided.

    5. If the manuscript processing fee or page fee is not paid on time or if the manuscript is not revised within the specified period, a written explanation is required. Otherwise, it will be considered as an automatic withdrawal of the submission. If the author wishes to submit the manuscript to another journal, they must first contact the editorial office of this journal, otherwise it will be considered as multiple submissions.

     

    IV. Manuscript Requirements

    The manuscript should be innovative, scientific and academic, with original contents, clear arguments, reliable and accurate data, and normative writing. Generally, 6,000-8,000 Chinese characters are preferred.

    1. Text Requirements: Concise and accurate e x p r e s s i o n are required. The terms approved and published by China National Committee for Terminology in Science and Technology shall be used and unified throughout the text.

    2. Title: The research objects and factors should be concise, and can reflect the main content of the article. Abbreviations, symbols, and formulas should be used as little as possible. No more than 25 Chinese characters, and English title should be consistent with the Chinese one.

    3. Authorship: The name of all the authors should be listed under the title in an order of contribution, which cannot be changed after submission (must resubmit the 'Copyright Transfer Agreement' and 'Authors’ Declaration Form' in case of any change). Affiliations should be recorded in full, including the specific department, the province and cityand postal code, which should be listed in order under the authors' name and identified in the upper right-hand corner of the author's name. The introductions to the first author (name, academic degree, title, and main research areas) and the corresponding author (name and email address) should be attached to the first page footer. The author's names and affiliations in English should be consistent with Chinese, with 'China' marked after the postal code.

    4. Fund: If the topic is funded, the source and number of the fund should be provided at the first page footer. For projects with multiple fundings, semicolons should be used to separate them. An example is as follows:

    5. Abstracts in Chinese and English: A structured abstract is required, including objective, methods, results, and conclusion. It is independent, written in a third-person point of view without comment and explanation. All articles shall be provided with an English abstract. The English abstract should be consistent with the Chinese version, with concise and correct writing, and semi-angle punctuation. The full names of abbreviations should be declared on their first use.

    6. Keywords: to 8 keywords are preferred, and separate each one by semicolons. Please try to select from the Chinese Thesaurus. The English keywords should be consistent with the Chinese ones.

    7. Figures and Tables: Tables/figures and text contents should be clear. The quantities, units, symbols, and abbreviations in the tables/figures must be consistent with the text. All statistical tables use three-line table. A boundary line is needed for total or statistical column. Figures are necessary to be black and white for visual clarity and contrast. An English translation for the titles of tables and figures should be added. 

    8. Numerals: To implement 'General Rules for Writing Numerals in Public Texts' (GB/T 15835-2011). Arabic numerals must be used in the following cases: (1) for numbers used in measurement, such as over 500 person-times, 31.6 mol/L, 92.5%, 1:6, etc.; (2) for numbers used in numbering, such as chapter number 2.1.4, product model YB2-132S-4H, postal code 100871, etc.; (3) established terms that include Arabic numerals, such as 5G phones, G8 summit, 97-octane gasoline, etc. Chinese numerals must be used in the following cases: (1) for non-Gregorian calendar years, such as the first day of the first lunar month(正月初一), the eighth day of the eighth lunar month in the Gengchen year(庚辰年八月五日), etc.; (2) for approximate numbers represented by consecutive use of numbers in Chinese context (without commas in between) or those containing the meaning of “uncertain”, such as thirty or forty meters (三四十米), four or five hundred thousand yuan (四五十万元), one in several hundred thousand (几十万分之一), etc.; (3) established terms that include Chinese numerals, such as silicon dioxide (二氧化硅), duodenum (十二指肠), Thursday (星期四), the “Ninth Five-Year” project (九五项目), the first author (第一作者), etc.

    9. Quantity and Unit: To implement 'Quantities and Units' (GB 3100-3102.1-13-1993), reference to the third edition of The Application of Legal Units of Measurement in Medicine published by People's Military Medical Press in 2004. The symbol of a quantity is usually a single Latin or Greek letter, which is printed in italics (except for pH), and there is no abbreviation point after the symbol. The symbols representing physical quantities should also be italic. The symbol of a unit is printed in block without plural form or abbreviation point. The initial letter of a unit derived from a name shall be capitalized, such as PA, Gy, etc. The 'L' in 'liter' is capitalized. Other unit symbols are written in lowercase.

    10. Statistical Descriptions: To implement 'Terms for Statistics' (GB/T 3358.1-3-1993). The mean±SD is used to describe the quantitative data with normal distribution, and the median (interquartile interval) is used to describe the quantitative data with skew distribution. The specific name and results of the statistical analysis are required. 

    11. References: Implement 'Information and Documentation - Rules for bibliographic references and citations to information resources' (GB/T 7714-2015). Adopt the sequential numbering system for recording references, numbering them consecutively in the order they appear in the main text, placing the numbers in square brackets, and compiling them collectively at the end of the document. The first three authors are required in the references, followed by a comma and 'et al' for the rest of the authors. The examples are as follows:
