Whole genome sequencing in the molecular epidemiology of tuberculosis |

Abstract Tuberculosis molecular epidemiology mainly applies strain genotyping technology combined with epidemiological data to explore the transmission characteristics. Whole genome sequencing obtains the genomes of species using new biological information technology,whose high resolution,high throughput,high precision and short cycle time can make up for the shortcomings of traditional gene typing technology,and has been widely used in the tuberculosis molecular epidemiology. In this paper,we reviewed the development of whole genome sequencing recently and its application in the identification of strain types and pedigrees,identification of transmission direction,epidemic tracing and strain evolution,so as to provide reference for the control of tuberculosis and related research.
