The hygienic quality of six kinds of tableware sold in markets in Yongkang |

Abstract Objective To learn the hygienic quality of 6 kinds of tableware in Yongkang,and to provide the basis for the hygienic supervision of related tableware. Methods From 2014 to 2016,by random sampling method,totally 813 pieces of 6 commercially available tableware(glass,enamel,stainless steel,rubber,plastic and polytetrafluoroethylene non-stick coating products)were collected in Yongkang Hardware Market,supermarkets,shops and farmers' markets. The hygienic quality of these tableware was evaluated according to the national standard. Results Among 813 pieces of tableware detected,741 pieces were qualified,with a total qualification rate of 91.14%. The qualification rate of glass products,enamel products and stainless steel products was100.00%,98.90% and 98.53%,respectively;followed by the rubber and plastic products with the qualification rate of 91.48% and 91.43%. The qualification rate of polytetrafluoroethylene non-stick coating products was only 58.77%. The unqualified item of enamel products was chromium.The unqualified items of stainless steel products were chromium and lead. The unqualified items of rubber products were sensory odor and foreign matter. The unqualified items of plastic products were lead,potassium permanganate consumption,phenol and evaporation residue(n-hexane). The most important unqualified item of polytetrafluoroethylene non-stick coating products was chromium. Conclusion The hygienic quality of 813 commercially available tableware in Yongkang was generally good,but the qualification rate of polytetrafluoroethylene non-stick coating products was low,with main problem being excess chromium.
