Abstract:Objective To learn the epidemic characteristics of HIV/AIDS transmitted by heterosexual contact in Hubei Province,so as to provide the basis for AIDS prevention and control strategies. Methods The data of HIV/AIDS through heterosexual transmission from 2016 to 2017 in Hubei Province were obtained from China AIDS Comprehensive Prevention Information System. Descriptive analysis of heterosexual transmission characteristics of HIV/AIDS cases was conducted according to genders. Results There were 3 641 cases of HIV/AIDS transmitted by heterosexual contact(12 cases with unknown heterosexual contact history were excluded) reported from 2016 to 2017 in Hubei Province, including 1 766 cases of extra-marital non-commercial heterosexual transmission(48.50%). There were 2 508 male HIV/AIDS cases, who were mainly infected through commercial and extra-marital non-commercial sexual behaviors, with 1 344(53.59%)and 1 092(43.54%)cases,respectively. There were 1 133 female HIV/AIDS cases, who were mainly infected through extra-marital non-commercial sexual behaviors and sexual behaviors with spouses or regular partners, with 674(59.49%)and 333(29.39%)cases,respectively. As the age increased, the proportion of extra-marital non-commercial sexual transmission decreased, the proportion of commercial sexual transmission of male HIV/AIDS cases and spousal or regular partners' transmission of female HIV/AIDS cases increased;while these trends with educational level were opposite (all P<0.05). Conclusio The main route of HIV heterosexual transmission in Hubei Province from 2016 to 2017 were extra-marital non-commercial sexual transmission. Men with older age and lower education level were at higher risk of infecting HIV through commercial sex and women at higher risk of infecting HIV through sex with spouses or regular partners.
