| Epidemiological characteristics and spatial-temporal clustering of other infectious diarrhea in Shaoxing City from 2016 to 2025 |

Abstract Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and spatial-temporal clustering of other infectious diarrhea (OID) in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province from 2016 to 2025, so as to provide evidence for formulating differentiated prevention and control strategies for OID. Methods Data on OID cases in Shaoxing City from 2016 to 2025 were collected through the Infectious Disease Reporting Information System of China Disease Prevention and Control Information System. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the temporal, regional and population distributions and etiological characteristics of OID. The average annual percent change (AAPC) was used to analyze the trend in reported incidence of OID from 2016 to 2025. Spatial autocorrelation analysis and spatial-temporal scan analysis were used to analyze the spatial-temporal clustering of OID. Results A total of 155 355 OID cases were reported in Shaoxing City from 2016 to 2025, with an average annual reported incidence of 299.74/105. The overall trend in reported incidence was not statistically significant (AAPC=0.873%, P>0.05). January to March and June to September were the epidemic seasons, with seasonal indexes of 108.49%, 108.76%, 100.93%, 100.82%, 122.98%, 132.77% and 104.40%, respectively. The average annual reported incidence of OID in Zhuji City was relatively high, with 554.42/105. OID cases were mainly reported among males, children aged 0-<5 years and scattered children, with 82 399, 53 539 and 50 951 cases, accounting for 53.04%, 34.46% and 32.80%, respectively. A total of 21 503 cases with identified pathogens were reported. The reported peak of viral pathogen infection mainly occurred in winter, dominated by rotavirus infection, with 14 898 cases (69.28%). The reported peak of bacterial pathogen infection mainly occurred in summer, dominated by Salmonella infection, with 1 475 cases (6.86%). OID cases in Shaoxing City showed positive spatial correlation from 2016 to 2025 (all P<0.05). High-high clusters gradually shifted from Zhuji City toward Shangyu District and Yuecheng District. There was one Class Ⅰ cluster, centered on Datang Subdistrict in Zhuji City, involving 11 subdistricts (town ships) in Zhuji City, with a clustering period from June 2017 to May 2022. Conclusions The reported incidence of OID in Shaoxing City from 2016 to 2025 remained relatively high, with a stable overall trend. The incidence presents a bimodal epidemic feature of "bacterial infection in summer and viral infection in winter". Males and children were the high-risk populations, and Zhuji City, Shangyu District, and Yuecheng District were the high-risk areas.
