Abstract：Mental health surveillance collects and analyzes data through the existing public health information system,targeting at mental health status. It also gives early warning of the patients with severe mental illness,including the early warning for impulse,accident and negative suicide,so as to guide timely intervention and maintaining harmony and stability of society. This article reviews the progress of mental health surveillance and severe mental illness warning,which changed from telephone to network,from single factor to the whole course of disease,providing the management and research direction for further improvement of mental health surveillance network.
