| Influencing factors for latent tuberculosis infection among HIV/AIDS cases in Jinhua City |

Abstract Objective To understand the current status and influencing factors of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) among HIV/AIDS cases in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide a basis for formulating tuberculosis prevention and control strategies for HIV/AIDS cases. Methods The study included HIV/AIDS cases treated and managed at designated hospitals in Jinhua City between January 2024 and June 2025. General demographic information, lifestyle data, and clinical data were collected through questionnaires and the HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Control System of Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System. The gamma-interferon release assay was used to screen for LTBI. A multivariable logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors for LTBI among HIV/AIDS cases. Results A total of 1 480 HIV/AIDS cases were included in the study, comprising 1 052 males (71.08%) and 428 females (28.92%). The majority of cases were aged 45-<65 years, with 643 cases (43.45%). A total of 184 cases of LTBI were detected, representing a detection rate of 12.43%. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that a history of Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccination (OR=2.034, 95%CI: 1.348-3.069), a history of close contact with a pulmonary tuberculosis patient (OR=3.270, 95%CI: 1.353-7.903), and a CD4+ T-lymphocyte count ≥500 cells/mm3 (OR=2.055, 95%CI: 1.003-4.209) were associated with a higher risk of LTBI among HIV/AIDS cases. Conclusion The detection rate of LTBI among HIV/AIDS cases in Jinhua City was 12.43%, and it was associated with a history of BCG vaccination, close contact with tuberculosis patients, and CD4+ T-lymphocyte count.
