    Preventive Medicine is established in September 1989, monthly and openly published domestically (CN 33-1400/R) and internationally (ISSN 2096-5087). The journal is an academic journal in the charge of Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology, sponsored by Zhejiang Preventive Medicine Association and edited by Editorial Office of Preventive Medicine. It is one of serial journals of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, and a source journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations.and Annual Report for Chinese Academic Journals Impact Factors. It has been included in the Western Pacific Region Index Medicus, Chinese Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database, Chinese Journal Fulltext Database, and Chinese Biological Medical Disc (CBMdisc).  

    1  Purpose

    The journal is aimed to focus on prevention, rely on scientific and technological progress, promote three levels of prevention, combine popularization and improvement, follow the frontiers, and serve professionals with scientific achievements and information in the field of preventive medicine.

    2  Contents and scope of solicitation

    The journal mainly reports new theories, methods and technologies in epidemiology. The columns include expert forum, original articles, reviews, disease control, surveillance, maternity and child health, health education, health management, and laboratory research.

    3  Manuscript Submission Requirements

    The manuscript should be innovative, scientific and academic, with original contents, clear arguments, reliable and accurate data, and normative writing.

    3.1  Words  

    Concise and accurate e_x_p_r+e_s_s_i_o_n are required. Generally 6,000-8,000 characters are preferred. The terms approved and published by China National Committee for terminology in science and technology shall be used and unified throughout the text.

    3.2  Title

    The research objects and factors should be concise, and can reflect the theme of the paper. Abbreviations, symbols and formulas should be used as little as possible. No more than 20 characters in Chinese and 12 notional words in English are allowed.

    3.3  Authorship

    The name of all the authors should be listed under the title in an order of contribution, which cannot be changed after submission (must resubmit the Copyright Transfer Agreement in case of any change). Affiliations and their address (province, city, postal code) should be listed in order under the authors’ name and identified in the upper right-hand corner of the author's name. The introductions to the first author (name, academic degree, title and main research areas) and the corresponding author (name and email address) should be attached to the first page footer. The author's names and affiliations in English should be consistent with Chinese, with 'China' marked after the postal code.

    3.4  Abstract

    A structured abstract is required, including objective, methods, results and conclusion. It is independent, written in a third-person point of view without comment and explanation. All articles shall be provided with an English abstract. The English abstract should be consistent with the Chinese one, with concise and correct writing, and semiangle punctuation. The full names of abbreviations should be declared on the first use.

    3.5  Keywords

    Three to eight keywords are preferred, both in Chinese and English, and separate each one by semicolons. Please try to select from the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), the latest edition of the National Library of Medicine.

    3.6  Tables and figures

    Tables/figures and text contents as far as possible do not repeat. The quantities, units, symbols and abbreviations in the tables/figures must be consistent with the text. All tables use three-line table. A boundary line is needed for total or statistical column. Figures are necessary for visual clarity and contrast. An English translation for tables and figures (including title and annotation) should be added.

    3.7  Numerals

    To implement GB/T 15835-2011“General Rules for Writing Numerals in Public Texts”. Arabic numerals must be used in the following cases: (1) the Gregorian calendar century, day-month-year, hour and count; (2) measuring; (3) numbering; (4) words with Arabic numerals that have been stereotyped. Chinese numerals must be used in the following cases: (1) stereotyped e_x_p_r+e_s_s_i_o_n; (2) use two adjacent numbers to represent approximate number

    3.8  Quantities and units

    To implement GB 3100-3102.1-13-1993 “Quantities and Units”, reference to the third edition of “the Application of Legal Units of Measurement in Medicine” published by People’s Military Medical Press in 2004. The symbol of a quantity is usually a single Latin or Greek letter, which is printed in italics (except for pH), and there is no abbreviation point after the symbol. The symbols representing physical quantities should also be italic. The symbol of a unit is printed in block without plural form or abbreviation point. The initial letter of a unit derived from a personal name shall be capitalized, such as PA, Gy, etc. The 'L' in 'liter' is capitalized. Other unit symbols are written in lowercase.

    3.9  Statistical description

    To implement GB/T 3358.1-3-1993 “Terms for Statistics”. The mean±SD is used to describe the  quantitative data with normal distribution, and the median (interquartile interval) is used to describe the quantitative data with skew distribution. When describing qualitative data with relative numbers, the denominator should not be less than 20. The specific name and results of the statistical analysis are required.

    3.10  Reference

    According to GB/T 7714-2015“Information and documentation-Rules for bibliographic references and citations to information resources”, a sequential coding system is adopted. All the original works should be quoted, numbered in the order that they appear in the text, and marked with square brackets at the upper right corner of the citation.The first three authors are required in the references, followed by a comma and et al. for the rest of the authors. English translations should be attached to Chinese literature. The examples are as follows:

    3.11  Ethics  

    Research must follow the basic principles of medical ethics. For research involving human, an ethics committee review report (the approval number is recorded in the manuscript) and informed consent of the subjects or their guardians should be provided. The research involving animals should follow the '3R' principle of reduction, replacement and refinement. The species and source of the animals should be stated, and whether the breeding process meets the relevant standards, and whether the experimental process meets relevant protection laws should be declared.

    3.12  Fund

    If the topic is funded, the source and number of the fund should be provided at the first page footer. For multiple projects funded, semicolons should be used to separate them. An example is as follows:

    4  Submission process

    Please log on to www.zjyfyxzz.com to submit your paper. After submission confirmation email received, please submit Commitment of No Academic Misconduct, Copyright Agreement (download from our website), informed consent forms and the supporting documents of the funding. The manuscript processing fee of 50 yuan shall be charged. It will take one to three months to review each manuscript. Once accepted, the publication fee shall be charged. After the publication of manuscript, remuneration will be paid and two copies of the current journal will be sent to the first author.

    5  Other notes

    5.1  All the authors shall be responsible for the text. In accordance with “Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China”, the editorial board has the right to revise and abridge manuscripts.  Once manuscripts are accepted, Preventive Medicine has the rights for, but not limited to compilation, publication, reproduction, interpretation, E-publication, and worldwide transmission of the work in whole or in part, while permitting to be included in, searched and used by retrieval systems or databases in China and abroad, or to be published and used in other languages via different media existing or arising later in the way that is not against the existing law of the People’s Republic of China or the law issued afterwards.

    5.2  Manuscripts will be rejected if they are not revised and submitted before the deadline, or the authors do not paid for the processing fee and publication fee. If the authors want to submit to another journal, please contact us first, otherwise it will be treated as duplicate submission.

    6  Retraction process

    If plagiarism, duplicate submission, violation of ethical norms or other academic misconduct has been verified in the published papers, we will publish a retraction notice both on the paper and the website of the journal, and retract the manuscript immediately. All parts (abstract, full text, etc.) and all versions of the papers are marked 'Retracted'. On the basis of ensuring the completeness and clarity of the retraction notice, we will reach an agreement with all the authors to ensure the interests of all parties; if not, and there is sufficient evidence for the retraction, we will make the  final decision.
